Exhibitions 2020

Having had a vey successful 2019, selling most of the pictures I produced for my exhibition at Danby Inspired By....Gallery  and The Coast Gallery in Cloughton near Scarborough, I'm beginning a new series of  paintings and hoping that my work may be accepted by another gallery.

Exhibitions this year begin with Whitby Art Society's Annual selling exhibition at Whitby's Pannett Gallery in  Pannett Park. The Exhibition, entitled 'The Four Seasons', will be showing 122 works of art on that theme. It opens on Saturday 28 March and runs until Sunday 10 May. Entry is free of charge and the Gallery is open every day but Monday from 0930 until 0430.

    Exhibition 2019

I'm enjoying painting in the small Gallery at Danby from Thursday to Sunday when I can.  There has beena complete transformation to the room since the two windows have been blocked in and the room has been re-painted and lit beautifully. Luckily visitors have enjoyed the work - and the lighting - and I've been fortunate to sell nearly half the exhibition. \Many thanks to all who came and supported me and to the many visitors who stopped for a chat.

      This Beautiful Summer

Wonderful weather to be out and about sketching this summer of 2018.

Friends introduced me to the area around Grosmont with its beautiful woodland, high places looking over steep valleys and sleepy ravines where the Murk Esk runs over water splashes and into quiet tree-surrounded lagoons. So, several days spent in high summer, all of us enjoying days out sketching, with no rain or high winds to interrupt the work, followed by refreshments at the local friendly cafes. There's more to Grosmont than steam trains(although they're a wonderful sight too).

A Sense of Place, Nunnington Hall

March 31 is the first day of our exhibition, 'A Sense of Place' for the National Trust at Nunnington Hall, near Helmsley.  It's also an opportunity to meet the four of us, Anne Thornhill, Paul Blackwell, Peter Hicks and me as we will be there from 11.00am to 3.00pm. We have all enjoyed working at some of the most beautiful sites and lovely buildings and hope that we have done justice to some of the Nation's treasured possessions.
